We absolutely love this!
Some fans of O’Reilly Media took it upon themselves to create a funny book cover generator where you can create your own funny book cover using O’Reilly cover images.
Need we say more? Create away! (Our creation can be seen above.)

The folks at Cracked.com had an interesting photo contest called If Hollywood Decided to Give Everything a Gritty Reboot, where they challenged readers to give beloved books, movies, and TV shows a “gritty” reboot.
One of the pictures (it took 10th place, by the way), was of Charlotte’s Webb, the beloved book by E. B. White.
While they chose to “reboot” the movie poster of Charlotte’s Webb instead of the book cover, we think this just as easily can apply to the book…

And that is one children’s book we wouldn’t want to read.

For those of you that have spent a good amount of time on the internet, the obsession with bacon spouted in this book will come as little surprise.
But for an internet sensation to become a book? Well, it wouldn’t be the first time, now would it?
In Bacon: A Love Story, author Heather Lauer (of BaconUnwrapped.com) talks all things bacon. From the love affair people seem to have with it, to how it’s prepared, this book is like a Bacon 101 class.
Here’s the description as provided by Amazon: Read the full story
We’ve been posting quite a few funny Harry Potter pictures and funny Twilight pictures lately, so we felt it was high time we post a funny Lord of the Rings picture.
And this… this is too perfect for words:

Not sure about you, but we would stop for that sign any day.

Be honest; which of us hasn’t thought of having a book with a secret compartment to hide our most valuable possessions?
Well, now it’s possible with this handy book bank (also called a book safe) that we found earlier this week.
Don’t like Das Kapital? No problem. It seems like they have some other book safes available for your secret treasures.

It’s that time of the week again… where Monday is over, but you still have the rest of the week stretched out unbearably in front of you.
Luckily, this week’s pick for the title of “Weird Book” will shock the Mondays (and the Tuesdays) right out of you.
It is a book about shopping carts .
But it’s not just about any old shopping carts (because if you wanted that, you could probably hit up a catalog, or something).
It is about the art of finding stray shopping carts. Specifically, it’s about finding stray shopping carts in Eastern North America.
We are both thrilled and a little worried that this book was able to be published. Because if this can get published, what’s stopping a book about misplaced grocery lists lining the shelves? (Oh wait, it already has.)
You can read the book description (via Amazon) below. Read the full story
Yes, we just posted a funny Harry Potter picture a few weeks ago, but we couldn’t resist posting another Harry Potter-related image after we found this picture of Sarah Palin (entitled “Sarah Palin With Books”) on FreakingNews.com.
Originally, there was just Sarah Palin with the books. But, a few minutes and a few Photoshops later…

Sarah Palin is at Hogwarts!
You can come up with your own conclusions as to why she would be there, but we are content to have somehow made Harry Potter (sort of) relevant to a current political figure.

Written and illustrated by Bruce McCall, 50 Things to Do with a Book: (Now That Reading Is Dead) takes a weird—but humorous—look at a world that thinks reading is dead.
You can check out an excerpt and some of the illustrations below. (Just be warned: One of the illustrations involves books being used for target practice, something that is sure to make any book lover’s heart boil with rage.)

We’re not exactly sure why, but when we saw The Scream by Edvard Munch, we couldn’t help but pair it with something Harry Potter related.
Since we saw this reaction on many Harry Potter fans (ourselves included) when Dumbledore died, this caption made a funny, sick sort of sense.

The good folks at Baron Bob offer a reading light called the Little Lamp that skips the niceties of normal reading lights by doing without a lamp altogether.
Yes, this lamp goes au natural to provide the bare necessities for reading light on a dark, stormy night. (Or any other night, for that matter.)
While we don’t think anything can top the Shakespeare tissue box, this little reading lamp is pretty weird.
But, if you (or a friend) would a Little Lamp of your very own, you can get it here.
While we might not have any really weird gifts (yet), our shop does have some unique gifts for readers, writers, and poets.
NOTE: We don’t get anything for featuring these gifts. Zero, nilch, nada. We do it because it amuses us and we like to give our readers a good laugh—or, a great gift idea.
