Article Qualifications
Articles should be between 350 and 1000 words. (If you feel you cannot express your view in 1000 words or less, consider submitting a series of articles on the same topic.)
If accepted, each article will undergo editing for grammar and clarity before it is published on HesedBooks.com.
We are open to publishing articles that are generally not accepted on most book-related sites. We like originality, creativity, and satire. We especially like articles that center around unique or controversial ideas, promote literacy in an engaging way, or have a unique perspective about how reading and writing play an important role in everyday life.
How to Submit
We accept submissions by email only. If you are submitting an article or a series of articles, title your email “Article Submission.” Emails not titled “Article Submission” will not be read.
The email should include the following items:
- A brief bio
- Why you chose to cover the particular topic you wrote about in the article(s)
- The article you are submitting. If you are submitting a series of articles, only submit the first two. (Articles should be pasted into the body of the email; no attachments will be accepted)
- Your contact information (must include best email to reach you at)
We respond within 5-7 business days of your submission (excluding weekends and holidays) via email only.
Compensation
If your article is chosen for publication on HesedBooks.com, you will be given a byline and a bio statement (up to 150 words) at the end of the article where we will promote your book, blog, website, product, or event.
You will retain rights to your content, with the option of publishing your article on your own blog or website 30 days after it has appeared on HesedBooks.com.
If you have additional questions about the terms of compensation outlined above, please email us with “Article Compensation Question” as the title. Emails not titled “Article Compensation Question” will not be read.
*Articles can be controversial and ‘edgy,’ but they must have a purpose other than offending the audience.
